AMS/Sallie Mae

Challenge

Come in and shepherd a Fortune 500 Lender Brand's web presence to market - that's been a year and a half in the making and standards non-compliant. And, while you're at it, find a way to display individual borrower benefits to 4000 client schools - on a static HTML platform with no access to back-end systems or databases. Did we mention that selling season is only weeks away?

What we did to solve the problem

Sometimes seemingly insurmountable technical roadblocks are taken down by a simple, creative approach. With all-hands-on-deck, the AMS team was able to bring the troubled web project into content and cross-browser compliance, meeting its aggressive launch goals for the new AMS web site. With flat data outputs from the enterprise system and a creative application of ASP/VB, AMS became the first Sallie Mae lender brand to display easy to maintain school-specific and custom borrower benefit micro-sites for 4000+ schools.

And then what happened?

The new website and related features, functionality, and branding initiatives became a key component of an integrated marketing campaign that helped more than double the AMS loan origination volume to nearly 2 billion dollars in only a years time.
