Mansfield, MA, 10.17.2007 -Visual Activity, LLC, a Massachusetts-based user experience, web design and development firm has joined forces with local authors Jon and Lauren Goode to create a logo and Web e-commerce microsite for their new book Pitching With The Papelbons. The site, located at www.PitchingWithThePapelbons.com is the only online venue where people can purchase the book.
The book centers on Jonathan Papelbon and his two brothers, Joshua and Jeremy, at a time when they played on the same little league baseball team. Lowell Spinners executive Jon Goode and his wife Lauren wrote it.
Proceeds from the book will go to help the C2 Mission, a Foundation created to benefit children and families affected by Cerebral Palsy and Cystic Fibrosis.
"One of our missions was to become involved in community projects this year, and our first opportunity was with a local school transition from a middle school to an elementary school," said Keith LaFerriere, Managing Partner for Visual Activity. "When we spoke to Jon about the connection to the C2 Mission, it made it all that much easier to work on the project."
When asked about the commitment made towards the book, Keith explained why he wanted to get involved. "Our passion for the health and safety of children, the idea that we could help by using technology to communicate a message while raising money for a good cause was all in concert with our corporate values."
Jon Goode chose Visual Activity due to their strong commitment to citizenship and local ties. "I wanted to work with a local company that I knew I could trust not only to do a great job with the site, but with the awareness as well. These guys know the marketing and user side of the Web as well as the design and development and they've shown a commitment to the greater cause," said Goode.
The book is on sale for $19.95 and will start shipping on November 5th.
