Mansfield, MA, 07.02.08 - Visual Activity has established a professional group catering to the needs, education and advancement of user experience (UX) professionals.
"During the past two years we've had the chance to speak at conferences and publish articles which focused on online and interactive disciplines", said Keith LaFerriere, Managing Partner of Visual Activity. "Our goal for this professional group is to open the dialog between all disciplines of user experience and see what happens next."
A new online destination will be launched in early August and will feature a quarterly publication of articles and information that deals with advice, best practices and solutions to UX challenges. UX Professionals around the world are welcome to submit ideas or articles for consideration by contacting the UX Professionals group's email: uxp[at]visualactivity[dot]com.
When asked why they formed the group, Keith responded, "We've been working on this idea for a while and we believe that while there are groups that cater very well to specific disciplines or niche areas, there is still a need for unity across the entire UX field. We hope that there is a large measure of involvement that eventually branches out to regional chapters."
The current LinkedIn group has been joined by over 500 people in the first two weeks, with featured members such as Don Norman.
Interested UX Professionals can join the group by going to either LinkedIn.com or Facebook.
